Adventure Forever invites you for one of the most thrilling night trek to Kalavantin Durg. This night trek is a unique experience, even for seasoned trekkers. During this trek, you get to witness a gorgeous sunrise, have a locally-prepared meal, make friends with like-minded people, and go back with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Kalavantin Durg

Kalavantin Durg stands tall in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of around 2,330 feet. Located between Matheran and Panvel, the fort is believed to have been a watch tower in the past. It is situated just opposite to the Prabalgad Fort. Kalavantin Pinnacle trek is divided into two patches, first is uphill terrain till Prabalmachi where the trek route is divided for Kalavantin durg and Prabalgad. The second patch for Kalavantin hike is vertiginous, as the rock cut steps are very steep and is the only way to climb the Kalavantin Pinnacle. There are no railings or support while ascending or descending the durg and thus makes it the hardest part of trek.

Brief itinerary
Day 1 – Saturday
20:15 – Meet the team at Panvel railway station, Local trains are available from thane or CST to Panvel. From here we will move ahead to base village by Private Transport
21:00 – Reach base village. After introduction and briefing, start trekking towards Prabalmachi
22.30 – Reach Prabalmachi and relax some time then have dinner
23.00 – Allocation of tents on double sharing basis.
Enjoy the night with Stargazing, Camp-fire, Music and lots of Ghost Stories, with your friends.

Day 2 – Sunday
05.00 – Wakeup call and get freshen up (Basic toilet facility available)
05.30 – Have breakfast and tea
06.00 – Start trekking towards Kalavantin Pinnacle
08.00 – Reach on the top and explore the fort
09.00 – Start descending towards Prabalmachi
11.00 – Reach Prabalmachi, relax for some time and have lunch
12.30 – Start descending towards base village
14.00 – Move towards Panvel in private vehicle
15.00 – Reach Panvel Station and take next available train
Trek concludes with happy memories 🙂
