Adventure Forever invites you for one of the most amazing trekking experiance you ever had (Vasota Jungle trek), which includes boating, trekking and camping along side the lake. Vasota also known as Vyaghragad is in a reserved forest area and is one of the most popular jungle treks. This trek route takes you through dense forest cover alongside the Koyna river to the ruins of the Vasota fort. To reach the base village you must take a boat ride through Koyna backwaters which is one of the largest fresh water lakes in India.

About Vasota Jungle

Vasota Jungle trek is said to be one of the most scenic and adventurous thrilling trek in Sahyadri range in Maharashtra. The Koyna river basin is home to many wildlife animals like a panther, wild dogs, hyena, bears etc. Met Indavali is the base village of Vasota. From here the forest path leads us to the top of Vasota. It takes two hours to reach the top. It is a gradual climb and through dense forest. The view from top is breathtaking. On the east side are the backwaters of Shivsagar dam. After that one can see the mountain range of Kas Mahabaleshwar. Steep falls or cliffs on the west side of the fort and the mountain ranges add to the beauty of the place.

Itinerary
Day 0 – Friday
23:00 – Assemble at Thane Railway Station Near platform no. 10 and start travelling from Thane in private vehicle
(On the way pickup available)

Day 1 – Saturday
05:30 – Reach the Base village of Bamnoli & freshen up
06:30 – Have Breakfast and then brief introduction
07:30 – Move towards the boating point to reach Met Indavali (Koyna Backwaters)
09:00 – Reach Met Indavali
10:00 – Start the trek to Vasota Fort through dense forest
13:00 – Reach Vasota Top, have the packed lunch and explore the area. Enjoy the magnificent view that Vasota offers
15:00 – Start the descent
17:00 – Reach Met Indavali and catch the boat back to the base village. The Boat ride, especially in the evening, is very scenic and soothing to the eyes
18:30 – Reach base village, freshen up and start pitching camps beside the lake
20:00 – Prepare for a fun night, have a delicious dinner play a few games, share stories (especially ghost stories), make new friends and enjoy the campfire
23:30 – Day Ends (Only for those who are sleepy. We highly recommend against it)

Day 2 – Sunday
06:00 – Wake up early morning, freshen up
07:00 – Have Breakfast and explore the beautiful surroundings of the lake
10:00 – Start the return journey
13:00 – Have lunch near the Kaas plateau
20:00 – Reach Thane
